We tend to wait for that “Eureka!” moment when we realiza we’ve succeeded as caregivers but failed in caring for ourselves – then try to take steps to regain our health. I care for the frail elderly daily and some days as their lives slip toward twilight, I can literally feel my energy being pulled away. The decision to be in a caregiving profession should immediately be followed by a decision to care for ourselves. The principles of NurseFit can give anyone in a caregiving profession the means to start doing this!

I can attest to the power of yoga for caregiver fatigue. I work at a children’s hospital on Friday nights. It takes a lot out of you. After a long night, I hit yoga class. It’s good for the body and the soul. Kim’s approach makes a lot of sense and I’m sure there are thousands of nurses who could benefit.
